A weekend away at Amara Cay; a world away from stress.

So when’s the last time you ventured south to the Florida Keys for a weekend getaway or staycation? It’s been a while for me as well as I often forget just how much there is to do, see, and explore just south of Homestead. There’s also been a huge upgrade in hotels as of late stretching across all of the keys that you need to get on your radar in time for your next trip.

Tucked away on the isle of Islamorada is a newly renovated boutique hotel known as Amara Cay that’s catching the attention of both the locals and tourists alike. From the moment you enter the perfectly decorated lobby, you feel the cool ocean breeze greet you at the door. A mix of wooden and natural finishes line the newly renovated Sparrow’s Rum Bar directly outside the hotels premier restaurant, Oltremare. A quick walk through the lavish pool area and your steps away from white powered sands overlooking the calm Florida Keys ocean. After just one experience, I immediately thought about two this hotel would be perfect for; weekend getaways and weddings

Not too big, not too small, Amara Cay could easily fill your needs for a perfect staycation. Especially if your idea of a vacation includes: round the clock rum cocktails, kayaking, casual water sports as well as delicious locally caught seafood. The picturesque waterfront property also has nuptials written all over it. With a cozy 110 boutique rooms, its easy for a bride and groom to do a hotel takeover and have the hotel and its 4-star amenities all to themselves. With close proximity to fishing, outdoor activities, spas, and local restaurants and bars, it truly makes for a quaint weekend getaway or perfect wedding soiree.

Now for the rooms! Each recently upgraded along with most of the hotel, you can expect cozy, roomy and comfortable accommodations. With coconut lined views and activities just outside your door, I’m predicting that you’ll be spending the majority of your time outdoors. Below are a few picturesque moments from my stay at Amara Cay. To experience the hotel for yourself, click here for booking information.
