Being a South Florida influencer definitely has its perks. I love being able to attend unique events and share the experiences with you the audience. This was exactly the scene just over a week ago at a very special dinner at PubBelly Miami Beach that was curated by famed Puerto Rican chef Jose Mendin and none other than the Grapes of California Commission.
Yes! Did you know that California has their own commission in the name of the grape? Did you also know that this is where 90% of the grapes in your grocery stores come from California? I was intrigued by what is in store, because how many ways can you really cook or prepare a grape right? Let me be the first to tell you that I was totally blown away by the delicious experience. From cocktail to dessert, each course was perfection. Chef Mendin mixed the perfect blend herbs and spices with the grape varieties to create an unforgettable meal. If I had to choose just one course that blew my taste buds away, it would have to be the first course. The scallops and light creamed rouge paired with red grape in a salad really hit home. It’s one of those memorable dishes that you want to try at home, but somehow know it could never be as could as Chef Mendin’s. The night ended with great conversation, a few more cocktails with a fabulous great; all in the name of the tiny little grape!
